A popular spot for fishing, boating, and windsurfing, Lake Hodges is a city reservoir operated by the San Diego Water Utilities Department. For landlubbers, there are picnic tables and porta-potties strategically located around the lake, which is part of the San Dieguito River Park Trail System, the Coast-to-Crest Trails that will eventually go from the beach at Del Mar all the way to Volcan Mountain, a distance of 55 miles.
